Here at East of Eden, our yoga practice is a holistic approach that incorporates physical poses, philosophy and chromatherapy to restore and enliven both body and spirit. Our Yoga Dome is equipped for light therapy that represents the colors of the chakras. When used in combination with complementary poses, chromatherapy assists in releasing blockages that may be limiting your prana (or breath) from circulating restorative life energy throughout the body.

Yoga is an ancient art based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind, and spirit. The continued practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being, and also a feeling of being at one with the environment.

There are different types of yoga. Hatha Yoga is the most familiar kind practiced in the West. Hatha (“forceful path”) is the yoga of physical well-being, used primarily as a form of physical therapy and fitness.

Yoga does not meet the traditional definitions of a religion. Rather than broadcasting a philosophy or a doctrine of its own, hatha yoga is a physical and psychological discipline that combines the learning and practice of postures, breathing exercises and meditation.

Yoga is both preventive and therapeutic. The postures stretch and relax muscles and properly align the body, thus giving overworked muscles a chance to rest.

When done with dedication and purpose, hatha yoga can be a quite demanding, yet immensely rewarding type of exercise. A consistent practice can quiet the mind and refresh the body, bringing health, relaxation, and happiness.
